One quote from the past…
I don't think my taste in aesthetics is that much different than a lot of other people's. The difference is that I just get to be really stubborn about making things as good as we all know they can be. That's the only difference.

One tool from the present…
How to take notes from Andy Mutaschak. I really like his approach. Rather than opening up notes and jotting down thoughts throughout the day, you should have evergreen notes that you think of as mini-books on topics that you’re trying to learn.
His approach has really helped me improve my recall of what I’m learning and synthesize more lessons from my reading.
One thought about the future…
Edward Luttwak thinks China is preparing for war (either over Taiwan or perhaps something even more ambitious). I don’t know enough about the particulars to endorse what he says but Luttwak is a reliable guy with a pretty good track record behind his predictions.
